The Opportunity

As a Clinical Advisor at Te Whatu Ora, you will play a vital role in supporting the Crown in its relationships with Māori under the Treaty of Waitangi. This position involves designing community-based systems of care, agreeing on health and wellbeing plans, and monitoring outcomes to shape system-wide public health services across the motu. You will work collaboratively with clinical leaders to implement improvements that address equity, quality, and patient safety outcomes.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for the Clinical Advisor role should hold a relevant clinical professional qualification and have experience in providing clinical governance and advice in service redesign within the life course area. Key skills and experiences include:

  • Experience in maternity, oral health, or youth health leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to provide advice into service design
  • Clinical governance across clinical services
  • Leadership in developing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organizations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience operating in a regulated environment
