Optimizing the Sound of RNZ National with a Lead Scheduler

Te Mahi - About the Job

RNZ, New Zealand’s non-commercial public multimedia organization, is seeking a Lead Scheduler to shape the sound of RNZ National. The role involves identifying, scheduling, and delivering pre-built features and the schedule for RNZ National in alignment with the radio strategy. As the leading Sound Imager for RNZ National, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall feel and brand through music selection, feature selection, and voice training.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading talk and music programming teams
  • Coordinating with Content leaders for RNZ content rollout
  • Creating trailers, promos, and sound imaging for shows
  • Managing the team of schedulers and newsreaders
  • Delivering holiday programming

Ōu Pūkenga - About You

The ideal candidate for this role should have a significant background in radio broadcast on-air and programming, strong production values, experience in creating promos and imaging for live radio, and knowledge of scheduling and playout systems. Previous experience in managing people and good knowledge of national and international news and current affairs are also required.
