About Us

Our client is one of New Zealand’s top bakery suppliers, specializing in milling a variety of flour, grains, and brans at their Otahuhu plant. They supply these products to commercial clients nationwide and are now seeking trainee mill hands to join their team.

The Role

As a trainee miller, you will work closely with the assistant and lead miller to learn the ins and outs of the milling process through hands-on training. Your responsibilities will include setting up and adjusting milling equipment, running and monitoring automated PLCs, handling materials, conducting quality checks, and maintaining cleanliness in the plant.

The Ideal Candidate

While prior milling experience is preferred, this position offers a fantastic opportunity to learn the trade while earning internationally recognized qualifications. We are looking for candidates with a background in manufacturing, particularly in food production or engineering. Physical fitness is essential for this role, as is a basic understanding of computer operations. A team player mindset and willingness to work flexible hours are also key attributes we are seeking.

Shifts and Location

This position involves a 2-week rotating shift schedule, working 12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm for two weeks, followed by 7:00 pm to 7:00 am for the next two weeks. The role is based in Otahuhu, Auckland.
