Job responsibilities

- **Process and manage the group's end-to-end payroll function using a computer system to ensure accurate and timely payments.** - **Gather and validate information on hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll data.** - **Calculate payroll, including tax and benefit payments, ensuring compliance with New Zealand payroll regulations.** - **Prepare and execute pay orders via electronic systems or distribute paychecks as required.** - **Act as the primary point of contact for managers and employees regarding payroll and leave-related queries, offering expert advice and support.** - **Address and resolve payroll issues promptly and professionally.** - **Process tax obligations (PAYE, KiwiSaver, etc.) and employee benefits accurately and in a timely manner.** - **Maintain personnel files and ensure confidentiality of employee information.** - **Monitor and report on excessive leave and leave accumulation, alerting managers as needed.** - **Administer long-service rewards, including reminding managers of upcoming work anniversaries.**

Qualifications

- **Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in New Zealand.** - **Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax obligations, and employee benefits.** - **Proficiency in payroll software and advanced Excel skills.** - **Experience with Xero system essential.** - **Experience using Smartly system desired.** - **Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.** - **Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle queries and provide advice.** - **Ability to manage deadlines and handle confidential information with integrity.** - **Strong time management skills.**
