Job Title: Psychologist at Oranga Tamariki

Overview

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking a Registered Psychologist to join their team in Auckland. This rewarding and challenging role involves working towards the wellbeing and positive outcomes of children and young people in New Zealand. The position is a 0.8 FTE Fixed Term Parental Leave Cover ending in March 2025.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide psychological and therapeutic assessments
• Deliver specialist interventions
• Engage in parenting assessment work
• Work with children with complex care and protection histories
• Offer Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
• Provide therapy with tamariki and their whanau/caregivers

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate should be registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board. Experience in working with children in a care and protection environment, conducting assessments, and therapy will be advantageous. Candidates should be comfortable working with diverse ethnicities, including Maori and Pacifica clients.
