About the Role

We are looking for a well-organized and experienced individual to join our team as a Hire Fleet Mechanic. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a passion for our products and industry, possessing strong attention to detail and a commitment to completing tasks efficiently.

Position Objective

The primary objective of the Hire Fleet Mechanic role is to maintain and service our fleet of machinery to ensure maximum reliability and functionality from our workshop.

Key Responsibilities

• Servicing: Changing fluids, filters, lubricating/greasing, etc.
• Repairs & Maintenance: Diagnosing and fixing machine, engine, hydraulic, and electrical faults; performing basic engineering tasks like cutting, welding, grinding, and drilling
• Reporting: Documenting damages/faults, providing estimates for repair jobs, reporting to the Operations Manager
• Training: Collaborating with other service specialists, attending training courses, supporting apprentices, advising customers on machinery use

The ideal candidate for this role should have:

• Physical fitness and time management skills
• Organizational abilities and a deadline-oriented approach
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
• Attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
• Quick troubleshooting skills and mechanical knowledge in earth-moving equipment
• Auto electrical knowledge, welding, fitting, and turning experience
• Flexibility in work hours and previous experience in a rental business (desirable)
