The Opportunity

Are you a seasoned Senior Business Analyst looking to make a significant impact? Waka Kotahi, in collaboration with NZTA and Public Transport Authorities, is embarking on the National Ticketing Programme, a transformative initiative to streamline public transport payments across New Zealand. This initiative aims to revolutionize the way Kiwis travel by consolidating all modes of public transport into one seamless payment system, accessible through cards or smart devices. As a critical player in achieving New Zealand's vision for a safer and more sustainable land transport system, this role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a game-changing project.

As part of the BA team, you will play a key role in driving the delivery of a nationwide system that aligns with business objectives. Your responsibilities will include creating essential project artifacts and documentation, such as business requirements, models, and system specifications in adherence to Waka Kotahi's SDLC. Your expertise in business analysis will be pivotal in ensuring the successful transition of the solution into operations.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess: - A minimum of eight years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst, showcasing advanced analytical skills to tackle complex issues effectively - Strong customer service orientation and a proven track record in integration and system implementation - The ability to translate intricate business and customer requirements into digestible language for various stakeholders - Experience in navigating complex business and technology landscapes, coupled with the capability to develop a deep technical understanding of business challenges

In addition to the above, familiarity with or a willingness to learn about Te Ao Māori, and a commitment to promoting tikanga and Te Reo Māori are essential. Understanding the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as applied in the public sector is also desirable.
