Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou, established in 1988, is dedicated to creating positive futures for children with parents or caregivers in prison across Aotearoa New Zealand. We believe in the promise and potential of these children and work tirelessly to support them through programmes and services.

About the Role

We are looking for a full-time Youth Mentor to join our team in West Auckland. As a Youth Mentor, you will be responsible for supporting families with children aged 5-17 whose parents are in prison or serving a community sentence. Your role will involve building relationships, providing support, mentoring, advocating for children, and more.

What You Will Bring

As an ideal candidate, you will have experience in social work, particularly with Māori tamariki and whānau. Your strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills will be essential for this role. You should also have a good understanding of cultural sensitivity and the Treaty of Waitangi.
