Overview:
A dynamic and motivated individual is needed to manage the afterhours crisis line for Te Whare Aio and Te Whare o Ngā Tūmanako Māori Women's Refuges in Auckland. This contracted role involves providing support and advocacy for clients experiencing family violence.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the afterhours crisis line for clients in need of safe housing
- Providing advice, support, and advocacy to client inquiries
- Conducting safety planning for new clients
- Communicating effectively with various referral sources
Skills Required:
The ideal candidate should have a social work qualification or relevant experience in victim support. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts and weekends are essential. Training will be provided, but a deep understanding of community challenges is a plus.
Details:
- Contracted role with remuneration per shift
- Working hours: Thursday to Monday, 4.30pm - 8.30am
- Location: Remote work with provided phone and laptop
- Weekly invoicing required for time worked
- Additional payments for client inquiries and intakes
- Police check and NZ Driver’s License necessary
