Key points:
- Support the Bina Harbour Tuna Processing Plant project in Solomon Islands - Full-time | 24-month contract with potential to extend - Based in Honiara, Solomon Islands, with travel to Malaita Province - Lead and coordinate the work to establish area governance arrangements - Manage staff and consultants of the BRAG Unit - Report to the BHPO Manager - Work closely with stakeholders to ensure project success
Job requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification - At least 5 years of experience in managing related projects - Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the Pacific, with at least 2 years in Solomon Islands preferred - Experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects - Familiarity with land tenure, governance structures, and community development - Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of BRAG contracted services - Manage a team and ensure effective coordination - Develop and manage the annual workplan for BRAG activities - Oversee the development of governance structures and manage agreements - Support capacity-building activities and trustee elections - Track project progress and ensure compliance with timelines and budgets
Qualifications:
- A relevant tertiary qualification - At least 5 years of project management experience - Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Pacific, with 2 years in Solomon Islands preferred
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Proficiency in English (Pidgin language skills are highly desirable) - Ability to manage budgets and procurement processes
