Job requirements
- Experience in working with disability, health, police, and family violence sectors
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and disability rights
- Experience in kaupapa Māori, violence and abuse prevention, disability, or mental health organizations
Job responsibilities
- Partner with the Chief Executive to ensure a Tiriti-based organization
- Advocate for transforming abuse prevention and response systems
- Collaborate with other organizations and stakeholders
- Support kaimahi Māori and contribute to their professional development
- Ensure the wellbeing of tangata whakkaha Māori
Qualifications
- Personal experience of disability or identifies as a disabled person
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability
Skills
- Excellent communication and modeling of core values
- Leadership in setting up new systems
- Resilience in dealing with abuse stories
- Understanding of abuse prevention and response strategies
- Fluency in te reo and understanding of disability rights
