Field Support Engineer - Junior/Intermediate

About the Role

If you are an up-and-coming Wintel desktop engineer looking for a challenging opportunity, this role in Auckland might be perfect for you. Reporting to the Head of Managed Services, you will be responsible for supporting IT end-user services internally and for clients. Your focus on customer service, communication skills, and team collaboration will be crucial in delivering exceptional user experiences. The role will involve working as part of a mobile team to ensure seamless operations across multiple locations.

  • Deliver top-notch customer service to both internal and client environments
  • Work closely with clients to optimize desktop environments
  • Manage Wintel servers, storage, and backups
  • Provide technical support for end-user devices and applications

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have experience with Wintel platforms, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Key skills and experiences we are looking for include:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 platform and server/systems management
  • Delivery of desktop solutions within an enterprise environment
  • Level 1 and 2 support/helpdesk experience
  • LAN-based networking skills
  • Scripting and database administration for automation
  • Understanding of security principles and tools

Personal Profile

This role requires mobility and frequent travel between customer sites. Candidates must have their own reliable car and a clean driver's license. Desired personal qualities include:
