About the Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Head Chef to join the team at the NZDF-Devonport Naval Base in Auckland. This is a permanent full-time position that offers job security and stability in an essential service organization. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety and quality, planning menus, coaching team members, and more.

Responsibilities

• Manage kitchen operations efficiently
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations
• Prepare and serve high-quality food
• Plan and control menu-based catering
• Develop staff roster and manage stock
• Lead and coach team members

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar chef position, hold food safety certificates, possess leadership skills, and excel in modern cuisine. Strong communication skills, a passion for great food, and the ability to handle multiple demands in a challenging environment are crucial. Experience in bulk production cooking is also desirable.
