What We Do
As a Health Improvement Practitioner, you will provide evidence-based interventions to individuals and families to support their mental health and overall wellbeing. You will work within General Practice clinics in Papatoetoe, delivering brief interventions to help people achieve their health goals. This role is part of the innovative Te Tumu Waiora programme, aimed at improving access to primary care behavioural health services.
Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Provide brief psychological interventions, including Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT)
- Deliver evidence-based group programmes to patients
- Collaborate with General Practice teams to support local population health
- Offer consultation, education, and advice to other healthcare professionals
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Be a registered mental health professional
- Have training in talking therapies such as ACT, FACT, DBT, or CB
- Demonstrate self-motivation, independence, and teamwork
- Possess excellent typing and IT skills
- Be culturally sensitive and able to work with diverse populations
