The Opportunity to Make a Difference

As a Social Worker in Schools (SWIS) with Family Works Northern, you will play a vital role in providing professional counseling and social work services to vulnerable children, teens, and their whanau. Your work will involve early intervention, preventive services, individual and group work, and a strengths-based approach to drive positive and lasting change. This fulfilling role comes with a 12-month fixed-term contract, offering you the chance to impact lives within local schools and communities.

Your Skills and Experience Matter

To excel in this role, you'll need:

• A tertiary level degree in Social Work
• Registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB)
• A full, clean NZ driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Prior experience as a Social Worker
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Knowledge of Tikanga Maori and a commitment to working with Tangata Whenua
• Experience working with children in a school setting (preferred)
