Job Overview

The primary objective of this role is to provide electrical leadership for maintenance and CAPEX functions. The successful candidate will collaborate with the engineering team and contractors to improve preventative maintenance, minimize unplanned downtime, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Perform plant maintenance including preventative, unplanned, and project-related tasks
  • Plan and implement the capital plan in coordination with the Operations Manager
  • Establish a close team with the Site Engineer and external contractors to achieve maintenance goals
  • Oversee site security and plant energy management
  • Conduct calibrations of plant equipment for Quality Systems requirements
  • Participate in company meetings and contribute value to the organization
  • Project a positive and professional company image
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
  • Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and the environment
  • Maintain respect and integrity in all interactions with staff and customers
  • Maintain and improve current PLC systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key Performance Indicators

  • Minimized unplanned downtime due to maintenance issues
  • Meeting electrical maintenance budget targets
  • Providing solutions to site electrical and PLC issues
  • Improving health and safety performance by controlling identified hazards
  • Effectively managing contractors

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess a relevant Electrical Trade qualification and demonstrate:

  • Effective communication skills
  • Understanding of plant maintenance requirements
  • Knowledge of plant equipment and systems
  • Strong time management skills
  • Team-oriented approach
  • Ability to read plans and drawings
  • Motivation and commitment to achieving maintenance goals
  • Experience with contractor management
  • Knowledge of health and safety risk reduction
  • Hands-on approach and self-motivation
  • Computer literacy and proficiency

This position is based in Christchurch Central with a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per annum.
