About Te Tai Awa o Te Ora

Te Tai Awa o Te Ora is a kaupapa Māori organization that has been dedicated to providing culturally appropriate social services in south Auckland for nearly 30 years. The organization's work is informed by Māori world views, including tikanga and mātauranga Māori. While about half of the clients and staff are Māori, the other half are predominantly Pasifika. The approach is client-centered and strengths-based, focusing on supporting clients to make positive changes in their lives.

About the Role

The Kaimanaaki position is part of the Kia Ora Ake program, a locally co-designed mental wellbeing approach for primary and intermediate school-aged children in Counties Manukau. The role involves working closely with clinical workers to build strong relationships with schools and the community, assessing and responding to the mental wellbeing needs of children and their families. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with children, facilitating wellbeing programs, and providing individual and family support.

About You

The organization is seeking community-minded team players with high energy who can engage effectively with children. Candidates should have experience in a community setting, a willingness to engage in training and professional development, and hold a full clean driver's license. The successful applicant must demonstrate local knowledge, a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and the ability to work in a bi-cultural and/or multi-cultural context. Experience working with Māori and/or Pasifika people is essential, and previous work with children is advantageous.

We Offer

The employment package includes a full-time salary ranging from $51,792 to $63,500, annual salary increases based on performance, two weeks of professional development time plus contribution to costs, bespoke training, and the opportunity to be part of a vibrant provider network.
