Description of the Role

This in-house legal opportunity at the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation offers a unique chance to be part of a team dedicated to sustainable investment and excellence. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in advising on various legal matters impacting the organization, including technology, data and cyber security, intellectual property, and commercial contracts.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide legal advice on general corporate and commercial matters
  • Act as the primary legal contact for technology, data, and commercial contractual arrangements
  • Assess and introduce new technologies to enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with different business units to deliver strategic legal advice
  • Participate in relevant Working Groups in the technology space

Requirements for the Role

To excel in this position, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • 5+ years PQE in general corporate and commercial law
  • Experience and interest in technology law
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities
  • Passion for innovative ways of working and utilizing new tools
  • Ability to build positive relationships internally and externally
