Opportunity for Experienced Lawyer in Litigation Department

Our client, a prestigious national law firm in Auckland, is seeking an experienced lawyer to join their Litigation department. This role will support a Partner renowned as one of New Zealand's top health and safety legal specialists. As a part of this role, you will be involved in a wide range of health and safety-related investigations and dispute resolutions, providing legal compliance advice and guidance to businesses on managing health and safety risks.

You will also assist clients in responding to workplace incidents, investigations, prosecutions by WorkSafe New Zealand, and coronial inquests. While the role may cover other litigation areas such as insolvency, construction, and commercial matters, your primary focus will be on workplace health and safety.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate for this position is a NZ qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' experience in litigation, investigation, prosecution, or regulatory matters. While prior health and safety experience is advantageous, it is not essential as long as there is a strong interest in practicing in this area of law. Candidates with a background in employment law, insurance law, general litigation, or criminal law are encouraged to apply.

Strong academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
