Job requirements

- Lived experience in teaching, facilitating, and capability building in Māori perspectives - Solid knowledge of tikanga Māori and general cultural competence - Confidence in speaking te reo Māori and supporting staff in understanding tikanga and kawa - Experience with Te Tiriti o Waitangi in a work setting - Ability to review and adapt practices for a successful work environment for Māori - Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders

Job responsibilities

- Ensure services and programs are culturally relevant for Kaumātua and their whānau - Work closely with Māori communities to develop initiatives for well-being and participation - Build relationships with Iwi, Hapū, and Hapori Māori - Lead cultural advisor role for Age Concern Auckland - Develop a Te Ao Māori framework and strategic programme

Qualifications

- Relevant experience in Māori community engagement and understanding cultural needs - Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in the workplace

Skills

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills - Genuine concern for the well-being of Kaumātua and their whānau
