Dayspring Trust is seeking an experienced Mental Health Community Support Worker to join our team in a permanent part-time position. The role involves supporting mothers with moderate to severe postnatal depression or ongoing mental illness in maintaining their wellness.

Role Overview

As a maternal mental health community support worker at Dayspring Trust, you will be responsible for providing various forms of support to mothers, including: - Assisting in maintaining mental wellbeing - Connecting with other health professionals for comprehensive care - Identifying and accessing support networks and community resources - Helping clients integrate into the community - Advocating for clients in matters related to WINZ, Court, or healthcare - Referring clients to appropriate agencies

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for a qualified Mental Health Community Support Worker who: - Demonstrates our values of Respect, Compassion, Hope, and Support - Has experience in mental health and cultural competency - Possesses a minimum Level 4 Certificate in Mental Health & Wellbeing (BSW preferred) - Holds a full NZ Driver's license - Is proficient in computer literacy - Has knowledge of building therapeutic relationships and local community resources - Understands mental health in relation to maternal mental health - Can demonstrate cultural competency and Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles - Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

Our mission is to promote the well-being of both mother and child by offering support services that encourage women to live, love, learn, and connect. We provide direct support, counseling, and life skills activities to women experiencing postnatal depression or living with mental health issues.
