Job Overview

The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to join their team on Christmas Island. The role involves working with heavy-duty diesel power generators, maintaining power station auxiliary equipment, and ensuring a safe working environment at all times.

Salary and Benefits

Key Responsibilities

- Inspection, maintenance, repair, and testing of diesel power generators - Maintenance of power station auxiliary equipment - Record-keeping in paper and computerized formats - Ensuring a safe working environment

Qualifications and Skills

- Diesel mechanic, mechanical fitting, or mechanical trade qualification - Experience with four-stroke diesel equipment - Effective communication skills - Commitment to occupational health and safety - Ability to work in a small, remote, and multicultural community
