Volunteer Opportunity in South Tarawa with VSA

Are you looking for a unique opportunity to share your knowledge and skills while experiencing life in the Pacific? VSA (Volunteer Service Abroad) is offering a full-time, 12-month volunteer position based in South Tarawa. This is a chance to make a real difference by working with our partner organisation, Aia Maea Ainen Kiribati (AMAK), to create a fair and sustainable future for all.

About VSA and AMAK

VSA is dedicated to building sustainable communities across the Pacific. AMAK, founded in 1968, is a national Kiribati women's federation focused on coordination, research, training, and development strategies. As a VSA Volunteer, you will work collaboratively with AMAK to empower women in Kiribati through social media platforms.

The Assignment

In this assignment, you will help build capacity within AMAK and its member organisations to utilize social media for information sharing. By creating and disseminating media content, you will support women in understanding their rights, combating gender-based violence, and enhancing local skills to adapt to changing circumstances in Kiribati.

The Volunteer We're Looking For

We are seeking a talented Media and Content Creator Adviser with experience in media content creation, digital applications, and ICT. The ideal volunteer will have a passion for making a difference, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zone to support the community in Kiribati.

Living and Working in Kiribati

Kiribati is a unique Micronesian country with a population of just under 120,000. The country is highly vulnerable to climate change due to its low-lying atolls. As a VSA Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and contribute to the resilience of the Kiribati people.

Apply Now!

If you are ready to embark on this life-changing journey, apply through the VSA website or email volunteer@vsa.org.nz for more information. Don't miss this chance to share your expertise and make a positive impact in Kiribati!
