Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a dedicated Pastry Chef to join our team and lead the creation of our delectable desserts. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in French desserts, with expertise in mousse, macarons, and precise piping skills. Additionally, we value good time management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with our team.

This position is exclusive to local candidates and requires an immediate start (no later than the end of June).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in seasonal menu planning under the guidance of the owner/head chef.
  • Prepare and bake a variety of desserts following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Ensure consistency in the taste, texture, and presentation of all desserts.
  • Manage inventory and procure pastry ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role.
  • Culinary degree or certificate in pastry arts is preferred.
  • Passion and creativity in dessert-making.
  • Proficient in time management and working efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of various pastry techniques and cake decorating.
  • Experience in Asian-style cake decoration is a plus.
  • Basic skills in pastry making, including tart shell, Choux pastry, macarons, and chocolate tempering.
  • Reliability and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work a 5-6 day roster, including the Christmas period.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and menu requirements.
  • Familiarity with kitchen health and safety regulations.
