Job requirements:

- Full registration with New Zealand's Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) - Social worker qualification recognized by SWRB - Clean, current driver's license - Experience in managing complex practice and casework - Ability to work collaboratively with peers and stakeholders - Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and Oranga Tamariki's work - Resilience, initiative, and proactive approach - Cultural awareness and confidence in cross-cultural practices

Job responsibilities:

- Coach, develop, mentor, and supervise social work staff - Ensure practice expectations and standards are maintained - Provide support to supervisors and teams for implementing practice models - Champion social work practice across the site

Qualifications:

- Experienced Social Worker in a similar role in NGO sector or within Oranga Tamariki - Desirable experience in Care and Protection and Youth Justice

Skills:

- Sound judgment, time management, and organizational skills - Ability to manage risk and make tough decisions - Empathy, patience, and ability to see past struggles - Understanding of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples' culture
