Job requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (NZQF Level 7 or higher)
- Experience in protection system design and power system studies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Job responsibilities
- Protection System Design: Develop and implement protection systems for network expansion, decarbonisation initiatives, and renewable energy projects.
- Technical Analysis & Calculations: Conduct power system studies, feasibility investigations, concept designs, and detailed designs.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners to ensure designs align with industry standards and project requirements.
- Project Leadership: Take on technical leadership responsibilities, guiding project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare high-quality technical reports, design documents, and setting files.
Qualifications
- Industry experience within New Zealand, Australia, or an equivalent utility sector overseas is highly desirable
