Role Overview

As a Civil Estimator at Maxion Civil, you will play a crucial role in managing commercial aspects of projects from inception to completion. This involves working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to commercial concepts, practices, and procedures. Your responsibilities will include estimating for civil projects, reviewing contract terms, negotiating with clients and subcontractors, risk management, procurement, and maintaining client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimating for civil projects including tendering, budgeting, and subcontractor requirements
• Reviewing contract terms and conditions for adherence and risk management
• Negotiating favorable outcomes with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Procurement of subcontractors and compiling subcontract agreements
• Assessing payment claims and variations
• Monthly cost reporting and accurate forecasting
• Pricing and winning work for Maxion Civil

Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

• At least 3 years of experience as a Civil Estimator in New Zealand
• A solid understanding of NZS3910:2013 and conditions of contract
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to identify competitive pricing
• Knowledge of construction techniques and processes in New Zealand
• Experience in tendering projects and preparing accurate estimates
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
