About the Role

The role of Recruiter at Ako Mātātupu is pivotal in growing a community of changemakers dedicated to addressing educational inequities through the Teach First NZ Programme. As a leader within the organization, the Recruiter will be responsible for developing and implementing a recruitment strategy to attract, select, and nurture a cohort of 75 participants annually. Key responsibilities include marketing and attraction, nurturing potential applicants, managing the selection process, communication management, and data management. The role may involve travel within and outside of Auckland, as well as weekend and evening work.

About Ako Mātātupu

Ako Mātātupu's mission is to tackle the root causes of educational inequality in New Zealand and create a future where all children can reach their potential. Through a two-year teaching and education leadership program, participants work in low-income communities while completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Teaching. The organization believes that these educators, known as Kairapu, will continue to challenge inequities beyond the program's duration.
