Job requirements

  • More than 10 years' experience at a senior level managing large communications and/or engagement teams within large complex organisations, preferably in transport, infrastructure or safety fields
  • Governance or steering group-level experience, and ideally, central government and political nous, is an advantage
  • Proven relationship building experience eg leading, influencing and building credibility

Job responsibilities

  • Manage the communications and engagement planning and delivery for transport infrastructure programmes
  • Coach and mentor a strong and successful group of team leaders, principals and advisors
  • Implement best practice and efficient engagement and communications approaches

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Reo Māori
  • Knowledge of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector

Skills

  • Strong expertise in developing and delivering iwi, stakeholder and community engagement
  • Excellent risk management, writing, editing and presentation skills
