About Papatoetoe North School

Papatoetoe North School is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to maintain the school site and ensure a welcoming and safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. We are looking for an individual who can work both independently and collaboratively, showing initiative, proactiveness, and a strong sense of pride in their work and our school community.

Job Responsibilities

• General maintenance of school buildings and equipment
• Perform small repair jobs and general maintenance tasks
• Secure gates and buildings at the start and end of the school day
• Maintain, clean, and upkeep the school pool
• Monitor and adjust pool chemical levels
• Ensure compliance with building, fire, and health & safety regulations
• Supervise school cleaners
• Manage site stock and order necessary supplies

Requirements

The successful candidate will be subject to police vetting, identity verification, and reference checks. They must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand and possess a clean driving license. Remuneration will be in accordance with the School Caretakers, Cleaners, and Canteen Staff Collective Agreement.
