St Mary’s School in Northcote, Auckland, is seeking a full-time caretaker to join our team. As a Catholic primary school on the North Shore, we take pride in providing a safe and well-maintained environment for our students, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities and Skills

As a caretaker at St Mary’s School, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our buildings and grounds are well presented and properly maintained at all times. Your responsibilities will include:

• Utilizing your handyman skills and capabilities
• Effectively prioritizing workload and working well under pressure
• Implementing scheduled maintenance programs
• Managing cleaning contracts and general contractors
• Having a strong sense of pride in your work and a can-do attitude
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations
• Working positively alongside staff and primary-aged students

In addition to these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will have experience in ground, garden, and building maintenance, as well as a sound understanding of the English language. Holding a current, full driver's license is also required for this position.

Work Conditions and Application Details

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. The salary will be in accordance with the School Caretakers’ and Cleaners’ Collective Agreement, with room for negotiation based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
