Rutherford College, a well-resourced co-educational secondary school in Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland, is seeking a part-time counsellor to join our dedicated counselling department and wellbeing team. Position Details

• Role: Counsellor
• Employment Type: Part-time (4 days per week), permanent position
• Start Date: 13 May 2024 (negotiable)
• Location: Te Atatu Peninsula, Auckland

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Has previous counselling experience, preferably in a school setting
• Belongs to NZAC or a similar association
• Demonstrates a sound understanding of the ethics of secondary school counselling
• Is hardworking, effective, and committed to providing quality counselling and mental health services

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be primarily focused on:

• Providing quality counselling and mental health services to a wide range of students
• Facilitating student-led groups to promote wellbeing
• Working creatively with students and staff to enhance the school's culture and wider life
