Senior AOD Counsellor Position in Auckland

Responsibilities

  • Establish relationships with clients
  • Conduct assessments to identify individual needs
  • Deliver AOD interventions through counseling and group sessions
  • Collaborate with CareNZ staff to provide oversight and support

Requirements

  • Ability to connect with clients while maintaining boundaries
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Commitment to reflecting the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori
  • Experience in group facilitation or willingness to learn
  • Problem-solving skills to address unique challenges
  • Capability to work independently and within a team

Preferred Qualifications

A current clean, full driver's license is desirable but not mandatory

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in AOD Counseling, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field
  • Full DAPAANZ registration
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in AOD and/or Mental Health settings
  • Ministry of Justice and Police clearances
  • Valid right to work in New Zealand
