Job Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Coordinator at Snowplanet, you will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the business. Your responsibilities will include coordinating the maintenance of the facility with the Night crew, ensuring smooth operations without any disruptions. You will primarily work on the cold side of the facility, handling tasks such as making and grooming snow, completing lift repairs, overseeing the plant room, and maintaining all areas in optimal working condition. Additionally, you will assist in cost-saving initiatives, improve efficiency, and effectively communicate with the team to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Role Details

- Coordinate maintenance of the Platter Lift and Ski Mat - Utilize snow groomer for grooming Terrain Park and slopes - Assist in training Night Shift operators - Ensure slope presentation meets customer standards - Refresh snowpack as needed - Contribute to park plans and feature maintenance - Assist in setting up special seasonal areas - Implement maintenance programs in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager - Work on a roster basis with on-call responsibilities

Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, applicants should possess: - Working knowledge of heavy machinery and mechanical aptitude - Motivation to work in a small team and adapt to job variabilities - Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism - Good safety record and comfort working in a cold environment - Experience with night shift work is advantageous - Welding experience is a plus - Previous experience operating heavy machinery (minimum 2 years) - NZ Full license with a TWR endorsement - Knowledge of ski area snow conditions - Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively - Proactive, flexible, and self-initiated - Strong hand-eye coordination and efficiency in practical work - Good time management, work ethic, and willingness to go the extra mile

Salary and Application
