Job requirements

- Proven experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau
- Passion for engaging with people affected by family harm
- Ability to work autonomously and excellent time management skills
- Recognised qualification under the Social Workers Registration Act 2003
- Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in child protection
- Unrestricted NZ Drivers Licence

Job responsibilities

- Providing assessment, planning, placement, and referral services for children and young people
- Supporting and training foster carers
- Developing and implementing care plans in consultation with birth families and caregivers
- Managing complex relationships with stakeholders
- Writing court reports and providing evidence
- Contributing to the recruitment and assessment of new foster carers
- Ensuring all practices align with relevant legislation

Qualifications

- Recognised qualification under the Social Workers Registration Act 2003
- Current registration as a Social Worker
- Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in child protection
