Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine at John Hunter Hospital

About the Position:

John Hunter Hospital is currently seeking a Staff Specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine for a fixed-term temporary part-time position (0.5 FTE - 20 hours per week). The role involves providing high-quality specialized rehabilitation services in collaboration with other Consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine, Medical & Interventional Services at the hospital. The ideal candidate should possess a primary medical degree registered with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians [FAFRM (RACP)] or nearing completion of Fellowship.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience in Rehabilitation Medicine
• Ability to work autonomously and deliver consultant level assessment and management
• Desirable skills in super-specialized fields such as SCI, TBI, and Amputee Care
• Knowledge of Functional Independence Measure (FIM) / Australian Rehabilitation Outcomes Centre (AROC) data collection
