The School of Public Health and Interdisciplinary Studies at AUT University is seeking Teaching Assistants for the course HLAW701 Health Law and Policy. This role involves marking assignments, and a high level of academic literacy is required.

Job Description:

The course covers a range of health law topics such as the Code of Rights, The Health and Disability Commissioner, privacy, criminal law, competence and disciplinary issues, ACC, disability, digital harm, and end-of-life issues. While a law degree is preferred, candidates with legal knowledge from study or practice may also be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Marking assignments for the HLAW701 Health Law and Policy course
  • Demonstrating academic literacy and familiarity with formal academic writing and referencing
  • Completing work fully online, requiring computer literacy and reliable internet access
  • Being available from the immediate start until December, with a potential for contract renewal
  • Working an average of 20-25 hours per week during marking periods
  • Compensation based on completed marking scripts and applicant's experience and expertise
