Role Overview

The Assistant Controller position is crucial for producing month-end and year-end NZX reporting, as well as consolidating financial data for the global group. The role involves managing a team of five individuals and enhancing finance processes for increased efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Staff management and team leadership
• Accounting tasks including month-end and year-end financial statements
• Global consolidation of financial accounts
• Overseeing subsidiaries' financial close procedures
• Monthly reporting analysis and review
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Communication of monthly results to senior leadership
• Managing FX implications
• Statutory reporting and audit coordination
• IFRS-compliant statutory financial statements preparation
• Cash flow reporting and forecast maintenance
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Desired Candidate Profile

We are looking for a finance professional with the following qualifications and attributes:

• CA qualified with prior experience in CA practice
• 4-5 years of accounting experience in both practice and commercial settings
• Technical accounting expertise
• Experience in manufacturing and staff management
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems, ideally SAP
• Knowledge of MS PowerBI
• Diligent, organized, and structured with strong communication skills
• Advocate for change and adept at relationship-building
• Initiative, creativity, and problem-solving abilities
