Te Puawaitanga ki Ōtautahi Trust is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of Māori women and their whānau. Established in 2005, the organization upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi and focuses on promoting whānau ora for all, with a specific emphasis on whānau Māori. The trust works with whānau across all stages of life, providing health, education, justice, and social services in the Waitaha Canterbury rohe.

About The Role: Manahautū/CEO

As the Manahautū/CEO, you will lead Te Puawaitanga in delivering Crown funded contracts for health, social services, and other sectors. Your role involves strategic leadership, partnering with organizations to improve outcomes for Māori, and advocating to ensure the Crown fulfills its obligations. You will oversee a team of committed kaimahi who provide culturally safe and responsive support to empower whānau towards self-determination and achieving their aspirations.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Leadership: Lead strategic initiatives and drive positive change within a Kaupapa Māori organization.
  • Experience: Proven leadership experience, knowledge of health and social services sectors, and success in organizational change.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for Māori rights and represent the organization at a senior level.
  • Financial Management: Expertise in managing budgets, contracts, and achieving KPIs.
  • Te Ao Māori: Understanding and commitment to Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
