The Role

As a Community Counsellor at Higher Ground Papa Taumata, you will be responsible for responding to pre-admission inquiries, conducting intake interviews, formulating treatment pathways, providing ongoing support to clients throughout the pre-admission process, offering professional counseling post-residential treatment, and facilitating continuing care and group work.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualities and qualifications: - Dedication to assisting individuals with severe substance addiction - Skills in engaging clients while maintaining professional boundaries - Strong understanding of evidence-based practices in addiction treatment - Ability to work effectively in a team environment - High level of verbal and written communication skills - Commitment to Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti O Waitangi principles - Knowledge of the 12-step program and previous experience in an AOD facility is advantageous - Candidates with a personal history of substance dependence must have at least 2 years of continuous abstinence

Qualifications/Experience Required
