Face-to-Face Counsellor, Youthline South Auckland

1.0 FTE Fixed-Term until June 2025

Youthline is seeking a professionally registered counsellor for our South Auckland Centre in Papatoetoe to provide short-term therapeutic intervention to young individuals aged 12-24 as part of our contract with CMDHB. Youthline is recognized as the primary support resource for young people, fostering thriving communities by working collaboratively with youth, families, and the wider community.

As a counselor at Youthline, you will be part of a dedicated and passionate team, offering flexible hours, continuous professional development, and a competitive salary aligned with industry standards. Your role will involve working closely with young individuals and their families, utilizing a strengths-based approach and embracing diversity.

Key Requirements:

• A recognized tertiary qualification in a therapeutic field (counseling, psychotherapy, or psychology) and current APC with HPCA or DAPAANZ affiliation
• Demonstrated expertise in person-centered, pluralistic, and strengths-based therapy both in-person and online
• Strong leadership, relationship-building, organizational, and communication skills
• Professionalism with effective time management, administrative capabilities, and attention to detail
• Regular participation in clinical supervision and a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and dedication to delivering culturally competent services
