Position: Growth Organiser Tāmaki Makaurau

If you are passionate about making a difference in the union movement, this position as a Growth Organiser in Tāmaki Makaurau might be the perfect fit for you. The role focuses on greenfields and lower density sites, working to develop and support leaders and activists in their unionism efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Growth Organiser, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Using union frameworks to systematically recruit new union members and activists
  • Developing and documenting recruitment journeys
  • Communicating the value of working in a union to workers
  • Creating and implementing member growth journeys
  • Systematically contacting members and worksites
  • Using data and reporting to track progress against goals

Work Environment:

This role will require travel across Tāmaki Makaurau and flexibility to meet with members outside of regular work hours. The position offers a purpose-driven work environment with benefits such as matching KiwiSaver contributions, health insurance reimbursement, a provided vehicle, and 26 days of annual leave.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

  • Strong organizing skills
  • Experience working with greenfields and lower density worksites
  • Commitment to developing and supporting union leaders and activists
  • Understanding or willingness to learn about Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Proficiency in Te Reo Māori is a plus
