Through regular interactions, mentors help build resilience, confidence, and hope in young people, setting them on a path towards a brighter future. As a part of the world's largest mentoring organization, BBBS Auckland has been serving the community since 2018.

Your Role as a Mentoring Coordinator

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will oversee a caseload of mentor-mentee matches, ensuring the safety and success of each pairing. Your responsibilities will include interviewing and vetting volunteers and referred children, as well as supporting the matching process. Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices is essential for this role. Additionally, you may have the opportunity to contribute to other areas such as event management, fundraising, and digital marketing.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a background in social work, youth work, counseling, or psychology. A passion for supporting youth, experience in whānau support, and alignment with BBBS Auckland's core values are key attributes. Proficiency in computer skills, excellent communication abilities, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends are also required. A clean driver's license and the legal right to work in New Zealand are necessary for this role.
