Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) Health Services is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team focused on embedding a Kaupapa Māori model of care. As a Health Care Assistant, you will have the chance to work with prisoners who have ongoing complex health and/or disability needs.

About the Role

In this role, you will be working within a primary health care setting, administering medication, triaging patients, and assisting in health care delivery under the direction of a Registered Nurse. A key aspect of the role involves liaising with doctors to manage the on-site doctor clinics. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high-performing team committed to delivering quality health care services.

Requirements

To excel in this role, we are looking for individuals with a proven background in assisting patients with complex health and/or disability issues. A certified Level 3 Health Care Assistant with experience in health care is preferred. Collaborative teamwork skills, the ability to work under guidance, and a non-judgmental approach are essential qualities. Eligibility to work in New Zealand is also a prerequisite.

Salary and Benefits

The full salary range for this position is $60,100 - $70,358. The appointment and remuneration will be based on the skills and experience relevant to the role.
