Role Responsibilities

  • Enhancing the skill level of individuals interested in entering the hospitality industry at a foundational level.
  • Delivering training to trainees referred by the Ministry of Social Development to kickstart their careers in hospitality.
  • Actively placing trained individuals into employment opportunities within the local market.
  • Mentoring trainees through the learning process, job search, and onboarding into the industry.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with potential employers to facilitate job placements.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for this role should possess:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry with expertise in various areas such as cookery, food preparation, service, barista, or bartending.
  • Experience in teaching and assessing relevant unit standards.
  • Background in delivering group training and creating engaging learning environments.
  • Recruitment experience is a plus.
  • Assessor's Qualification 4098 is advantageous or a willingness to obtain it.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Google suite for administrative tasks.
  • A genuine desire to support individuals in achieving success and driving positive change.
  • Knowledge of Tikanga principles is beneficial.
  • Positive, energetic, and adaptable attitude with a strong team spirit.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and work effectively in a team setting.
  • Valid driver's license for travel requirements within the Auckland area.
