Role Responsibilities
- Enhancing the skill level of individuals interested in entering the hospitality industry at a foundational level.
- Delivering training to trainees referred by the Ministry of Social Development to kickstart their careers in hospitality.
- Actively placing trained individuals into employment opportunities within the local market.
- Mentoring trainees through the learning process, job search, and onboarding into the industry.
- Building and maintaining relationships with potential employers to facilitate job placements.
Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate for this role should possess:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the hospitality industry with expertise in various areas such as cookery, food preparation, service, barista, or bartending.
- Experience in teaching and assessing relevant unit standards.
- Background in delivering group training and creating engaging learning environments.
- Recruitment experience is a plus.
- Assessor's Qualification 4098 is advantageous or a willingness to obtain it.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Google suite for administrative tasks.
- A genuine desire to support individuals in achieving success and driving positive change.
- Knowledge of Tikanga principles is beneficial.
- Positive, energetic, and adaptable attitude with a strong team spirit.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and work effectively in a team setting.
- Valid driver's license for travel requirements within the Auckland area.
