Introduction

Are you an experienced Information Security Specialist looking for a unique overseas volunteering opportunity to leverage your expertise? Volunteer Service Abroad (VSA) is offering a 4-month full-time volunteer assignment based in Suva, Fiji with flights, accommodation, and other expenses covered. This is a chance to share your skills and knowledge with others while making a positive impact on communities in the Pacific.

Partner Organisation

The assignment involves collaborating with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS), the region's premier political and economic policy organization comprising 18 members. PIFS operates by fostering cooperation between governments, collaborating with international agencies, and representing the interests of its members. The assignment aligns with the organization's Pacific Vision for peace, harmony, security, and prosperity in the region.

The Assignment

As an Information Security Specialist volunteer, you will work with PIFS's Information Services Team to strengthen information security management capacity and capabilities. This includes identifying gaps, developing policies, and aligning practices with the 2050 business strategy. Your role will be crucial in enhancing information security systems to support the organization's objectives.

The Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer who is flexible, adaptable, and passionate about making a difference in the Pacific community. Desired skills include the ability to build partnerships, think and act strategically, work collaboratively, and solve complex problems. Experience working in the Pacific region is a plus, but not mandatory.

The Country

Fiji, known for its coral reefs, clear lagoons, and tropical landscapes, is a multicultural destination with diverse cultural influences.
