Responsibilities of a Healthcare Assistant at Mercy Hospice

• Assisting nursing colleagues in providing personal care to patients
• Ensuring patients in the In-patient Unit (IPU) receive meals and refreshments
• Communicating any physical, psychosocial, or spiritual needs observed during patient care
• Maintaining nursing equipment and resources for staff use
• Identifying and managing potential health and safety hazards

Qualifications and Skills Required

The ideal candidate for this role should have:

• Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant, preferably in palliative care, general medicine/surgery, or aged care
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
