A unique opportunity is available for Mental Health Workers/Mind Health Practitioners to join LagiOla – Healthy Minds, an initiative dedicated to transforming health and wellbeing services for Pacific families. This role involves utilizing evidenced-based brief interventions and Pacific/Talanoa approaches to make a tangible impact on Pacific mental health and wellbeing.

Role Description

The Fono is seeking individuals such as Counsellors, HIPs, RN-Psych, DAAPNZ members, Psychologists, and OTs to engage directly with individuals and families, delivering brief psychological/behavioral interventions. The role emphasizes the integration of Pacific values, beliefs, and practices to ensure a culturally responsive approach to service delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must possess a relevant qualification acceptable to The Fono, such as a Level 7 bachelor’s degree in counseling, SWRB Registered Social Worker status, membership in the New Zealand Association of Counselors, DAAPNZ registration, or qualification as a psychologist. Additionally, a deep understanding of Pacific culture and protocols is essential, along with a current full NZ driver's license and NZ citizenship or permanent residency.
