Are you passionate about youth and looking to lead a team of dedicated Mental Health Clinicians? Odyssey House Christchurch has been on a mission for over 30 years to improve the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities affected by addiction, mental health, and related issues. Manu Ka Rere is a community youth mental health service that collaborates with various services across Canterbury to provide one-on-one support for young people aged 13-24 with mild to moderate mental health issues and alcohol/drug concerns.

Your Role as a Senior Clinician

As a senior clinician at Odyssey House Christchurch, you will be managing a team and carrying a caseload. Your responsibilities will include managing referrals, ensuring compliance with systems, preparing reports, and acting as a liaison between the community and service stakeholders. You will be providing a mix of intervention models, conducting comprehensive assessments for youth, navigating paths to wellbeing for young people and their families, liaising with link agencies, collaborating with Specialist Youth Services and Primary Care, facilitating groups with young people and parents, preparing case notes and monthly reports, and leading a team of clinicians.

Qualifications and Skills Required

To be successful in this role, you should have significant experience as a registered health professional, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong team leadership abilities, experience in building rapport with young people, organizational skills for managing clinical workload and team coordination, and cultural awareness for the diversity present in this service. It is crucial that you can relate well to young people.
