About the Role
The Patient Transfer Service at Hato Hone St John plays a critical role in facilitating planned and urgent transfers for hospitals, as well as providing transport for various healthcare needs including residential care, palliative care, bariatric, and air ambulance patients. As the largest provider of patient transfer services in New Zealand, Hato Hone St John serves Te Whatu Ora Health NZ to ensure the well-being and care of individuals requiring medical transportation.
Duties
- Transport patients between hospital facilities
- Collaborate with health professionals
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills with a patient-centered focus
Skills & Experience
- Hold a full class '1' NZ driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with a clean driving record
- First Responder qualification (training provided for new employees)
- Comfortable operating large vehicles and responding under lights and sirens when necessary
- Good level of physical fitness
- Resilient and capable of working autonomously
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on customer service
- Commitment to the well-being and care of others
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Current First Aid Level 2 Certificate preferred but not required
